Thanks to the generous donation from a Club support (who wishes to remain anonymous), several of our members had the opportunity to go to the Marion Palace Theatre this past Sunday to watch “Mary Poppins.”
Led by staff member Taryn, the group took in the afternoon matinee and had an experience they may not have had otherwise.
The production included an all local cast and the members said it was outstanding.
Katona, one of our teen members, said she had helped out backstage at a musical before, but had never watched one performed live. She pointed to the “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” song and the flying as her favorite parts of the show.
Lilly, a first grader, said she had never been to a musical, but couldn’t wait to go again. She loved when “the guy did a head stand and back flip” and when the toys came alive.
Brenna, another one of our teen members, said she had been to a musical before and that this one was great. The scene at the bank and the “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” song were among her favorites.
We cannot thank our donor enough for thinking of our members and providing them with a unique experience. We here at the Club strive to provide our members with experiences just like these in hopes of sparking a passion in our youth.
